Schizophrenia Awareness Week has been and gone.The website is still up so please feel free to visit and download or view the information there.


We support families and whanau to provide the best possible quality of life and recovery to their loved one who has a mental illness including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and phobias, depression, personality disorders and borderline personality disorder.

We do this by:

  • Free support, education and information for family and whanau.

  • Developing Peer Support Networks for families affected by serious and enduring mental illness.

  • Providing opportunities for mutual support, the sharing of experiences and gaining strength & skills to cope better through participation in support groups.

  • Promoting the rights and needs of individuals and families affected by mental illness.

  • Asian and Pacific Island family support.

  • Offering advocacy & advice to people about services, and to services about family issues for policy, planning, resourcing & provision.

  • Access to our extensive library for SFMI Auckland members.
